Collado Villalba City Council has purchased 1,600 new Model 2400D CONTENUR side-loading  containers, 900 of which will be used for incinerable waste, and 700 for plastic containers. These will be delivered at the beginning of 2019.

The new containers, which comply with current regulations at European level, have a capacity of 2,400 litres, a pedal, and are accessible to all users. They will be numbered for identification and tracking and incorporate the City Council’s corporate identity with the slogan “Throw away your rubbish here. Take care of your city”.

Citizen collaboration

The mayor, Mariola Vargas; along with the Councillor for the Environment and Street Cleaning, Yolanda Martínez, presented these new containers. Vargas stressed that they will be replaced in phases and will be launched at the beginning of next year.

Similarly, she asked the residents to collaborate by properly depositing waste, and announced that an awareness-raising campaign will be carried out, “because without the residents’ involvement, it’s impossible to keep our streets and public spaces in good condition”. She also referred to compliance with the Ordinance of Promotion and Guarantee of Citizen Coexistence to create an optimal and healthy environment.
