CONTENUR AND URD, TWO SPANISH COMPANIES JOINING FORCES TO LAUNCH A NEW, INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION. THE SMAFYBIN LITTER BIN
CONTENUR and URD have entered into a collaboration agreement to combine their experience with a view to further enhancing sustainable innovation on the market. CONTENUR, market leader in comprehensive solutions for waste management and URD, a company that develops technologically advanced solutions in the environmental sector, announce their collaboration alliance for launching a new solar-powered compacting litter bin that will enable waste managers to optimise the waste collection process.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION

This solution provides a response to the demand made by Public Administrations to optimise routes and the cost of sustainable collection. SmafyBin enables users to reduce CO2 emissions by compressing the waste, thereby reducing collection frequency.

Furthermore, SmafyBin makes it easier for the user by increasing to 200 litres the volume of waste disposed of, while also providing a greater compaction capacity when compared to alternative solutions.

One major part of the functionality of a compacting litter bin is the information it can transmit for its own control, for the management of the collection service itself and obviously for informing the end user.

A functional description has been generated to define the control platform, so that the bin can provide a response to the requirements of every party. It is based on defining the way the equipment itself operates (Stand-by, idle, level reading, compaction cycle, maintenance operation, alarms, energy-saving modes, etc.).

ABOUT THE AGREEMENT

The Smafybin litter bin will be presented as an innovation this year at the Greencities Forum in the City of Malaga, on 29th and 30th of September.

Green Cities is the leading event for all the stakeholders involved in constructing smart and sustainable cities in Spain.
