CONTENUR strengthens its international presence with the launch of a new project in Ostrava, one of the major cities in the Czech Republic and an important economic and logistics hub. With a population of over 284,000, the city is investing in the modernization of its waste collection system through more efficient and sustainable solutions.
The initiative, developed in partnership with OZO Ostrava, one of the country’s leading waste management companies, involved the supply, installation and deployment of 370 OVAL side-loading containers at the end of 2025. This pilot project represents a key step in the city’s strategy to roll out this system across the region.
The solution includes 2,000L and 3,000L containers with grey bodies and color-coded lids for each waste fraction, facilitating selective collection. Some units are equipped with foot pedals, improving accessibility and the user experience. In addition, CONTENUR has specifically developed an innovative system of integrated small lids within the main discharge lid, allowing the container to be used from both sides and optimizing its functionality.
This pilot project lays the foundation for a future expansion of the system, in line with OZO Ostrava’s goal of extending side-loading collection across the region. With this initiative, CONTENUR continues to champion innovation, design, and sustainability in waste management, adapting its solutions to the specific needs of each city.
